Greg Matheson

On a field trip in high school, Greg took a test that assessed his aptitudes and interests and optician was recommended as his #1 most suitable career.  He took the advice.

Greg started working in the optical business in 1984 and became a licensed optician in 1987.  As he tells his kids – if you love what you do you’ll never work a day in your life – and this couldn’t be truer for him.

Greg strives to bring the latest innovations in fashion and technology to his customers, and always with a focus on excellent fit and function.

Pursuing his dual passions for new and unique eyewear products and quality control, Greg strives to bring the latest innovations in fashion and technology to his customers, and always with a focus on excellent fit and function.  This has made Matheson Eyewear a leader in the optical field on PEI.

Over the years Greg has served as president of the PEI Opticians Association.  Also, Greg is proud that Matheson Eyewear supports many worthy causes in the Island community.

EYEGLASSES:  Although he didn’t need eyeglasses until recently, Greg has started wearing progressive bi-focals and so he is keenly interested in recent technological developments in this area – ask him about it! Greg wears J.F. Rey 2340A frames with Nikon SeeMax power lenses.

SUNGLASSES:  Greg likes the classic “Jack Nicholson look” and currently wears three pairs of sunglasses. He alternates between a pair of Maui Jim Kanaha’s and a set of Burberry’s for everyday use, and wears an Adidas pair when he is doing various activities.

Greg wanted to add one last thing – GO LEAFS GO!
